Typography

Storytelling is crucial to expressing Masterpiece’s unique culture. The words we use must also be carefully conveyed using typography that conveys our vibrant and eclectic family of tattoo artists.

Gradient Gothic

We have chosen Gradient Gothic as our primary headline typeface, which has the uniform strokes of a humanist sans serif but with sharp serifs added that convey the finesse of a skilled hand at work. Rather than striving for uniformity the designer of Gradient Gothic, Matyáš Machat, chose to emphasise the diversity of individual letters. All the better to express Masterpiece and its family of artists.

The uniform strokes of Gradient Gothic are a natural complement to those of the Masterpiece logo. The font is used in the Medium weight only and is intended as a headline font for large, bold headlines and statements.

How we use Gradient Gothic

Gradient Gothic is used for bold and expressive headlines and short statements. These headlines should be short and snappy so they can appear as large as possible within each layout.
